Category Archives: That’s life!

Due to some unfortunate events in my life and the lives of people who are close to me, no new entries will be posted in Abnormally Normal People for the next several days.

I just had another religious experience…so far two in one day!  What’s happening to me? On my previous entry I was criticized for poking fun at the Catholic Church (by the way I’m Catholic), The Pope and the way in which Popes are selected. Now, criticism is cool, but this time I just about fell over laughing when I read what this person wrote.  I replied to this person who invited me to their blog to read what they had written about my wicked ways and evil entry that I was going to decline their invitation because I didn’t want my sinful nature to tarnish their blog.

Okay, I lied (lying is a sin, so sue me I’m a sinner)…curiosity got the better of me and I’m actually glad I went to check it out.  The first thing I was hit with was a very LARGE picture of Hulk Hogan. Keep in mind this is someone who is going to blast me  for what I wrote about the POPE!  I scrolled down to their entry about me and  it was what I had expected , but what caught my eye was that this poor lost soul named NASCARFAN4LIFE accused me of making fun of The Pope to get people to read my blog.  I thought about that for a minute…I scrolled down further and  there were NO comments on this person’s blog at all or at least not  on that page.  Pardon me for being rude, but I don’t need to make fun of the Pope to have people read what I write.  There’s a few people out here that read me just because they’re gluttons for punishment. And like everyone else here on MSN Spaces, I’ll write what I want when I want to write it.  If you don’t care for what I write, don’t come here…it’s that simple! Problem solved.  Also, don’t go claim to being a Christian and then go around JUDGING people.  If I remember right, that’s a sin also!

My last entry leads me into a "little" confession about why I feel the need to "get back in shape".  Many probably assume a man is involved somewhere in the mix.  Indirectly that is true, but the truth more lies in my involvement with a female…a very little female who came into my life on January 1, 2005 named Kelly Anne.  When I talked about "mid-life" crisis…this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind!  That just shows one should always expect the unexpected especially if you have luck like mine!

Lately there seems to be an epidemic of rude people leaving comments on people’s blogs.  Leaving a personal insult or doing a character assassination because of something written on a blog is ridiculous!  Turning someone’s blog into a battleground for insults is a control issue and shows all the readers of that blog that while you may disagree with the contents of the blog, you don’t have the intelligience or power to debate an issue through other means that may make people change their minds or  rethink their position on an issue. All insults do is show ignorance, intolerance and immaturity.

We all have the right to disagree and voice our opinions, but by being rude and insulting it only makes Spaces cluttered with petty, narrow-minded bullies looking for someone to attack. MSN may be concerned about inappropriate content on blogs, but I feel that the people  slivering around  trying to cause  hate and discontent are far more damaging  and inappropriate than seeing the word "fuck" written on someone’s blog.

Yes, I do find rude people annoying and disrupting, but I have chosen not to delete comments made by them or to turn off the option to allow comments altogether in order to keep them from having access to my blog.  The insightful and humorous comments far outweigh the ones made by people who don’t have enough intelligience or command of the English language to disagee in a way that says something worth reading.
